But an increasing number of people now

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

But an increasing number of people now turn to high-tech, non-invasive laser hair removing.

A laser is an apparatus that produces electromagnetic radiation using the oscillations of atoms. It is considered safe. Quality laser hair removal centers use technology and products approved by Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

An expert, preferably a qualified medical doctor, directs the laser beam at the hair follicle, which absorbs the energy through the dark pigmentation, weakens and dies. The hair is unlikely to grow there again as before. The light colored skin around the follicle dissipates the energy and is not damaged. Fair persons have higher success rate in laser hair removing than the dark-skinned.

A good laser hair removal center or clinic will carefully study the skin condition of the potential client before agreeing to carry out the procedure.

Several clinics prefer online answers to a standard questionnaire before the first appointment. The exact number of sittings to complete the job will be decided only after the initial examination. Dark-skinned persons require more sessions for hair removal than fair skinned individuals.

There are a number of quality laser hair removal centers all over New York.

The very first designs

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

The very first designs for dog beds stressed comfort and ease of cleaning for the small, medium, large and extra large pooch in your life. Today there is a dizzying array of options for dog beds. There are dog beds designed to look like real beds so the lucky canine doesn?t feel left out, dog beds designed to look like real furniture, and dog beds for that aging canine, designed to accommodate his creaking bones and stiff joints. There are dog beds made out of fabrics designed to blend in with the d?cor of your home and there are dog beds that can accommodate a dog who likes to stretch out while he naps versus the type who prefers to curl up into a ball.

No longer is it sufficient to simply walk into a pet store, find a comfortable looking bed for Rex, choose a color that matches your d?cor, (or his) and leave.

‘Cancer lotto’ is slammed; WORLDTODAY

0 Comments | Evening Gazette (Middlesbrough, England), Dec 1, 2009

A CANCER charity slammed the “shocking” postcode lottery which means some parts of the country have lower survival chances.

Cancer Research UK said there was “no excuse” for the differences and called for urgent action from the Government.

The Department of Health’s cancer reform strategy report showed, for example, that a lung cancer patient in Hertfordshire was three times more likely to die within a year than a patient in Kensington and Chelsea.

It also found almost all Primary Care Trusts failed to match Europe’s best survival rates.

Byline: Alun Trevor

Some time later, when Dad was home, we saw the press cutting and heard how the noble Duke had said “You are a credit to Wales.”

“Next week, Winter Gardens, Bournemouth – must make a good impression there. Then Birmingham Hippodrome.

Shall be sending the boys a present. Parcel should arrive soon… ” We cheered. “Keep it a secret – it’ll be a surprise.” “Oh, I shouldn’t have told you.”

“Bet it’ll be a football… ” “Wait and see,” said Mam, trying to suppress Arthur’s premature excitement.

“A leather-case ball!” “Wait and see, wait and see.”

But Arthur began bouncing his rubber ball on the tiled floor, his excitement unsubdued.

“Go and feed the hens. And count them.”

Off he went with his ball. I followed, on the way to the coalhouse. The henhouse was at the back of the house, where we had our only flat field, Cae Gefn (Back Field), of about two acres. His voice almost drowned by the clucking hens, Arthur was counting. I returned, struggling with the full coal scuttle. He was still counting, with some difficulty, standing in the middle of the flock. Then: “Only thirty-one. One missing.”

Back in the house: “Mam, the Rhode Island Red’s missing again.” The last time we saw her she was wandering off towards the hawthorn hedge, which was the boundary of our smallholding. She had her head on one side, not clucking, but making her funny, considering noise; to lay or not to lay… “Oh, she’ll turn up

Area jobs ‘picture getting better’

0 Comments | Tribune – Review / Pittsburgh Tribune – Review, Jul 27, 2010 | by Joe Napsha

The Pittsburgh region continued to show signs of economic recovery in June, with employers adding jobs for the third consecutive month and the unemployment rate falling by 0.3 percentage point, the state said.

Moderate gains in jobs over the past three months “tells us that the picture is getting better,” said Robert Dye, vice president and senior economist at PNC Financial Services Group Inc., Downtown. The region has benefited from the jobs created by the natural gas industry as it explores the Marcellus shale reserves, Dye said Monday.

A survey of employers in the seven-county region showed a gain of 7,700 jobs in June, the state said.

The region’s unemployment rate fell to 8.3 percent in June from 8.6 percent in May, according to the state’s Center for Workforce Information and Analysis. The jobless rate was still 0.9 percentage point higher than June 2009, when the rate was 7.4 percent, the state said.

Dye predicted that the Pittsburgh region will have “a relatively strong economic performance through the remainder of the year,” but said he does not want to get overly excited about the economy because “I expect to see some signs of turbulence.”

The region covers Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

The state’s survey of employers showed that total jobs in the region reached 1.137 million, the highest total this year and almost 5,000 more than in June 2009. It’s the first time this year that the number of jobs at employers in the region was higher than the same month in 2009.

A separate survey of households in the region showed that total employment in June was 1.126 million, or 9,300 fewer than a year ago, state figures show. Total unemployment in the region was 102,100, which was 11,700 higher than in June 2009.

“This recovery has been painfully slow,” said Frank Gamrat, an economist and senior research associate at the Allegheny Institute for Public Policy, a Castle Shannon thinktank.

One bright spot in the economic recovery was the addition of 7,700 jobs by employers, said Harold D. Miller, president of Future Strategies LLC., a Downtown economic consulting firm.

Miller said private-sector employers added 9,300 jobs in June, but losses in government jobs, most likely from the Census Bureau, reduced the net increase to 7,700. The federal government alone cut 1,400 jobs in June, Miller said.

Cream of the crop

Back in South Africa, Mark Eilim, 38, cleaned carpets and rented out cars. The car rental business frequently took him to repair shops and garages in the dingier sections of Johannesburg where others feared to enter. And so, when a Jewish food service sought a driver to deliver meals to the needy in those neighborhoods, he volunteered.

One of his regular recipients was a woman who suffered from Asperger syndrome, a form of autism in which social interaction is difficult. She insisted he write down a phone number of a young woman she’d memorized after meeting her at a Pessah Seder eight months earlier.

Limited studies have found that the nasal

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Limited studies have found that the nasal spray reduces the duration of the common cold to less than three days, down from an average nine days. These amazing results have lead thousands of Americans to try this new medication, with terrible results.

You see, Cold-Eeze has been found to cause anosmia, or a loss of smell and taste. Many Cold-Eeze users experience horrific, almost unbearable burning directly after applying the nasal spray. Most nasal spray stings a little bit, so they continue the application, but within one or two days the Cold-Eeze users who experience this pain suddenly cannot smell or taste any longer. When the cold passes a few days later (Cold-Eeze gets this right!) smell and taste senses have not returned. It is not until these poor patients visit a doctor that they are informed of the devastating truth. Once anosmia sets in, those sense cannot be recovered. Cold-Eeze nasal spray permanently cripples the sense of smell and taste.

The active ingredient in Cold-Eeze, Zincum Guconicum, is sometimes referred to as Zinc Gluconate. It was first used as a nasal spray in the 1930?s as an experimental treatment for polio, but it did not improve the condition of polio patients.

This is evidence

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

This is evidence that mother nature intended the infant’s gastrointestinal tract to start up slowly after birth.

**As a result of observing that immigrant Bengali women in a London maternity ward failed to initiate breast feeding for a few days after birth, the author of this article decided to study this phenomenon. A review of the literature revealed that prelacteal feeds are common in the Indian subcontinent and in Egypt.

**Most UK studies of breast-feeding practices of Asian immigrants focus on the decline in breast-feeding prevalence. No research was found that directly investigates attitudes and beliefs about colostrum.

**The current study sought to determine what Bengali women believe about colostrum, why colostrum is omitted from early feeding, the duration of this omission, and what influences this belief and behavior.

**Data were gathered from 60 first-generation immigrants (58 non-English speaking), including 48 who had previously given birth in Bangladesh.

You?ll find it easy to put together

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

You?ll find it easy to put together an entire outdoor room ensemble from beautiful and durable teak.

When choosing your teak deck furniture, be wary of very low prices. You should choose furniture made from only 100% kiln dried teak, with no other woods added in. The very best teak you can buy is imported from Indonesia.

Choose your teak deck furniture carefully to ensure that you purchase only the best quality.

You?ll likely find that teak deck furniture is more expensive than some of the other materials out there. This is because the wood is so durable, and because it is imported. However, since its quality is unsurpassed, and your furniture will literally last you a lifetime, spending the extra money for teak deck furniture is worth the investment.

Over the years, your teak deck furniture will weather to a silvery gray.
